1. Local-First Architecture & Data Storage
Karobar Book is built from the ground up as a Local-First accounting and ledger application. All your business data is processed and stored exclusively on your device inside an offline, sandboxed Room/SQLite database.
This includes:
- Customer & Supplier Ledgers: Names, contact numbers, balances, payment dues, and credit/debit history.
- Point of Sale (POS) & Cash Book: Daily cash-in, cash-out (Rokar), expenses, and line items.
- Inventory & Products: Product titles, stock quantities, buying costs, selling rates, and barcode values.
- ISP & Cable Network Billing: Internet package tiers, subscriber renewal dates, and payment logs.
- Business Profile: Shop title, phone number, address, currency symbol, and logo image.
2. WhatsApp Reminders & Address Book Privacy
Karobar Book allows you to send 1-click polite payment reminders and PDF invoice bills to customers via WhatsApp.
- No Contact Scraping: We do NOT read, copy, or upload your entire phone contact list to any server.
- Direct Intent Execution: Reminders use Android's standard system Intent (`https://api.whatsapp.com/send`), passing only the recipient number and transaction text you choose to send. You remain in complete control before hitting send.
3. Optional Google Drive Backup & Safe Restore
To prevent accidental data loss when changing or resetting your phone, Karobar Book offers an optional Google Drive Backup feature.
- 100% Optional & User-Initiated: Cloud synchronization never runs quietly in the background without your explicit action. Backup only occurs when you tap "Backup to Google Drive" in Settings.
- Direct Peer-to-Cloud Upload: The compressed SQLite database file is transmitted directly between your phone and your private Google Drive storage via standard TLS/HTTPS.
- No Developer Intermediary: Authentication is handled strictly through Google OAuth 2.0. We never receive, view, or store your Google account password or personal files.
4. Android Photo Picker & Camera Access
- Android System Photo Picker: When choosing a business logo or product picture, Karobar Book uses the modern Android Photo Picker (`ActivityResultContracts.GetContent`). This allows you to select single images without granting broad media permissions (`READ_MEDIA_IMAGES` or `READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE`).
- Barcode Camera Access: Camera permission (`CAMERA`) is requested solely for the real-time scanning of product barcodes or QR codes in the POS checkout screen. Video or photos are never recorded or stored.
5. Exact Alarms & Payment Due Notifications
To help you collect dues on time, Karobar Book utilizes Android notification capabilities:
- High-Priority Local Alerts: Uses Android's `SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM` or `USE_EXACT_ALARM` API to trigger punctual local payment reminders set by you for customer or supplier follow-ups.
- Stock & Summary Alerts: Notifies you of low-stock thresholds and daily sales summaries. No marketing spam notifications are delivered.

- Google Play Services & Drive API: Provides Google account authentication and cloud backup transmission.
9. Data Retention, Control & Deletion Rights
Because your records reside locally on your device, you possess 100% control over your data:
- Instant Record Deletion: You can edit or permanently delete any individual customer, transaction, or product directly inside the app.
- Complete App Wipe: Clearing app data in Android Settings > Apps > Karobar Book > Storage > Clear Storage or uninstalling the app permanently erases all local database records.
- Google Drive Backup Removal: You can delete your Karobar Book backup archive directly from your personal Google Drive account at any time.
10. Children's Privacy Protection
Karobar Book is a specialized business utility designed exclusively for business proprietors, accountants, and merchants. It is not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly gather information from children.
